RE: Art explained by a writer: A Girl by the Oven (1894)

Back in the old days, people would say a girl didn’t need much education, restricting them because they were just going to be wives and mothers one day.

It’s just a different way of saying the same thing that comes from chauvinistic men today—like asking 'what does a woman know or what can she do?' Or, when they see a car being driven badly, they immediately assume it’s a woman driver. Even men who can’t stand being ordered around by a female superior—it’s all different, but the same.

This attitude still exists. Among the foreigners in our country and the very religious Dutch people.
Since men still tell those stupid jokes with the intention to be "funny" in behalve of women this says enough about what's going on in their mind, their lack of self-esteem. Itakes women change for sure.

I lately read a news item of how a woman responded as her boyfriend "joked" her place is in the kitchen...He will not repeat this ever.

If it comes to driving in the Netherlands a car insurance for women exist. These insurances are cheaper since women have way less accidents than men. By the way I know plenty of men who love it if I drive them around (so they can sleep) 🤣

This means there’s proven statistics showing that women are often safer drivers, that leads to cheaper insurance rates. That’s a good thing—and it shuts down those men with their big mouths.

Recently, we even had a case where an Alphard driver rammed into a motorcyclist after an argument. And yes, it was a male driver.
