Acá me encuentro de nuevo para presentarles a otro gran artista, en la iniciativa "Arte y Escritura", que llega a su edición 11. En esta oportunidad se trata del italiano Gaetano Chierici.

Nació el 1 de julio de 1838 en Reggio Emilia (Italia), una zona rural caracterizada por el trabajo de la agricultura y de la cría de animales.

Se formó en Florencia y sus obras fueron expuestas en muchas regiones de Italia. Su mayor la fama la alcanzó en el año 1869 cuando expuso en la Academia de Bellas Artes de Brera. Sin embargo, al poco tiempo, los críticos de arte catalogaron sus obras de monotemáticas, y sus reconocimientos artísticos se fueron apagando como una vela en una tarde con brisa. Aún así sus cuadros se vendían muy bien.

Entre los años 1882 y 1907 ocupó el cargo de director de la Escuela de Dibujo de Trabajadores de Reggio Emilia.

Fue el primer alcalde socialista de Reggio Emilia, entre los años 1900 y 1902.

Destacan como sus temas favoritos la vida cotidiana y la infancia juguetona y feliz; razón por la cual fue llamado: "El pintor de la infancia risueña".

Murió el 1 de julio de 1920, a los 82 años, en Reggio Emilia.

Here I am again to introduce you to another great artist, in the "Art and Writing" initiative, which reaches its 11th edition. This time it is the Italian Gaetano Chierici.

He was born on July 1, 1838 in Reggio Emilia (Italy), a rural area characterized by the work of agriculture and animal husbandry.

He trained in Florence and his works were exhibited in many regions of Italy. His greatest fame was reached in 1869 when he exhibited at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. However, before long, art critics cataloged his works as monothematic, and his artistic recognitions were extinguished like a candle on a breezy afternoon. Still his paintings sold very well.

Between 1882 and 1907 he held the position of director of the Reggio Emilia Workers Drawing School.

He was the first socialist mayor of Reggio Emilia, between 1900 and 1902.

They highlight as their favorite themes everyday life and playful and happy childhood; which is why he was called: "The painter of smiling childhood".

He died on July 1, 1920, at the age of 82, in Reggio Emilia.

Below we will present three of his works so that you can choose the one that most motivates you to write. The first is called: "The surprise" (1888); the second, "The first steps" (1876) and the third "The joke of the mask" (1900).
