We are closing the month of March, which we have dedicated to talented women who ventured into pictorial art. This week five is dedicated to Beatrice Offor.

This beautiful and talented woman was born in Kent, England on March 21, 1864. She had a large family of 9 siblings. His parents were named George and Emma. Since she was a child, she was attracted to painting. At first he did it as a hobby, but when he turned 18 he entered the Slade School of Art in London. When he was 21 years old he dropped out of art school, and dedicated himself to making portraits, especially of brides. He had several exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Art in London. One of his favorite themes was religious.

In 1892, at the age of 28, she married the artist and sculptor William Fairan Littler, a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in London. With him she conceived two children. The first named Ralph lived only 10 months; and the second, named Eric, did not make it past four months. Shortly after these two losses, Beatrice saw her husband die.

At that time it was frowned upon for women to remain single when young, which is why in 1907 she remarried, this time to a fruit importer named J. P. Beavan, who had three children from a previous relationship.

Despite having formed a new family, Beatrice constantly suffered from depressive crises and on several occasions tried to commit suicide, achieving this fact on August 8, 1920, at 56 years of age.

His works have been described as: Reflection of sad beauties. Below I will present three of these for you to choose the one that most motivates you to write. The first is entitled "Angel as well as a saint"; the second, "Girl and a witch" and the third, "El rosario".
