We humans have a knack for empowering the most insecure people in the world, those who crave political and economic control of countries to feel superior to others. In Venezuela, many statues of Chávez and Maduro were also erected. And monumental photographs of them adorned every government office, as if those spaces belonged to them.

Los seres humanos tenemos el "Don" de darles poder a las personas más acomplejadas del mundo, las cuales ansían tener el control político y económico de los países para "creerse superiores a los demás". En Venezuela, también se hicieron muchas estatuas con las figuras de Chávez y de Maduro. Y en todas las oficinas del Estado había monumentales fotografías de ellos, como si esos espacios les pertenecieran.

I think Trump is doing exactly the same thing. He is having statues of himself made and wants to renovate the entire White House. I wonder, Mum, aren't you afraid that in a few years, or actually in a year's time, you won't be there anymore?
It always feels a bit strange when people erect statues of themselves. I think that later degeneration should not do that, if at all.
I certainly believe that leaders, rulers, dictators, crazy Neros are firmly convinced that they own everything, the world, and can do anything. You can see that now with the Epstein files; the leaders are not being arrested.

Los "líderes políticos", mientras estén en el poder, están libres de culpa, así haya muchas pruebas que los inculpen.
