Assalam o alikum friends welcome to my blog I am @sualeha love to share my participation post in Steemit challenge season 30 in week:1 that hosting by very energetic and creativity lover lady @lunasilver .... Big inspiration for me to start sewing or stitching journey infact I am not good in sew crafts as well unfortunately my sew machine not in order now a days but when I saw the placemats making ideas from recycled materials I can't control my self to participate and after permission of teacher I made it from hand needle so the task were little bit more challenging and time consuming as compared to sew machine for me I hope you understand the hand made creation need more time and patience but I believed that no gain without pain..... Friends I do my best and completed my table mat in two days finally I share my participation in the challenge.
It's my first experience to make table mat or any sewing craft ever from my old and trash fabric stuffs,by first challenge were finding the Fabric scraps and colour selection or combination...at last I decide and start my working for this creative activity.***Recycling , reduced and reused theme..
I love DIY projects from recycled materials or discards and give them new life ,new look and useful again This challenge gaie me the opportunity to use the old fabrics stored in home leftover old fabrics. Today, I made environment -friendly placemats for the table using old and selected pieces of fabric with complete step-by-step procedure and images .

Materials required :
Neddle and thread
Iron
Waste fabric pieces
Pen for marking
Measuring tape
Scissor ✂️

Now I measured the 7cm by 7cm squares and marked with pen and cut squares from different colours and design for more attractive and eye catching table mat for my guest room.

- I arranged all pieces in pattern on my table before stitched with eachother.

I picked mixed colours of fabric pieces and keep safe the pieces were extra for another mat.

The task were very relaxing .... I always enjoyed the DIY projects but due to all work done by my hands I need more consistency and dedication I never give up and at last I win the match.....😁😁

Well guys I arranged by first it in teacher,s pattern style infact it's really beautiful but unfortunately when I attached small pieces one by one the designer goes random but believe me it's not bad ...

When all pieces were joined by me I iron it from both side for more perfect look ....ironing makes our work easy and clear.

Now I cut the back side of the table mat for that I used my old shirt that really dear to me when it was new so I used it as back side of it .I attached it by hand niddle and you can see how beautiful it looks...

My table mat almost at finished note only the corners of the mat covered with black bordered like ribbon style around the mat ,for bordered I again used my old trouser lower part it's ideal for making straight strips ,my mat were in rectangle shaped so I cut 2 different length measurements strips .After cutting ✂️ I attached it on all four corners of the mat it's give elegant look and yes increased durability and style even after wash .
Final presentation of my creation
When my table mat is ready I placed on my guest room table and also decor it with my hand made pottery.Friends truly amazing feeling of self confidence and results goes more perfect and satisfying I hope you also like it ...

Dear sualeha ma'am you have created a very beautiful and painstaking table mat. It is especially admirable that you did not give up and completed the entire work by hand even though the sewing machine was broken. It shows your hard work, patience and dedication.It's really a great idea to use scraps of old clothes to make something so beautiful and useful. The choice of colors is also attractive and the black border makes it more beautiful. This is a good effort on the table mat. Since your sewing machine wasn't working doing all that stitching by hand shows real effort and patience.
The way you reused old fabric scraps fits the 3R theme well and the black border gives the mat a cleaner look. It is a practical addition to your guest room.
