Consolation for a Grieving Husband

I am selecting the third painting: Rechazado (1883).
Respected @solperze, I am extremely delighted to learn that, after organizing 182 editions, you have found a wonderful admirer who will help you in your work. Hard work never goes in vain.
Samuel had never imagined that the house he was purchasing at a bargain price would have an interior in such a dilapidated state; nevertheless, he mustered the courage to take on the daunting task of renovating and organizing it. Given his modest income, he faced significant difficulties in carrying out this project.
Even today—despite having expended both his physical labor and his meager savings—he had failed to successfully complete the interior renovation of the house.
To fund this endeavor, he had borrowed heavily from friends, colleagues, and relatives; the situation had now spiraled completely beyond his control and comprehension.
A man, in an effort to uphold his "male ego," often finds himself unable to grieve openly or express his sorrow to anyone else.
However, Samuel’s wife—Solvina—a deeply sensible and empathetic woman, understood her husband's state of mind. Consequently, she sat beside him today, placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, and offered him solace, saying: "Do not lose heart, my love. I have absolute faith that, one day, you will triumph over this challenge."
These comforting words from his beautiful wife instilled a deep inner strength in Samuel; his sorrow began to subside, and his despair was alleviated. He felt renewed enthusiasm to resume the work with a fresh perspective.
It is, indeed, a human duty that if a loved one finds themselves in a state of confusion or distress, one should offer words of comfort and encouragement to boost their morale and strengthen them mentally—rather than inflicting further pain through taunts or criticism. This expectation applies particularly to wives: that they should support a husband going through a difficult phase by providing him with emotional and physical comfort, thereby helping him navigate and overcome his adverse circumstances.

Cuando alguien a quien amamos se encuentra en dificultades de cualquier índole, nuestro deber es ayudarle brindándole ánimo y todo lo que haga falta para superar la situación. Y eso, por supuesto, debe prevalecer entre los esposos. Es inconcebible que, si la mujer que nos acompaña en casa cada día tiene algún problema, nos dediquemos a minimizarlo o a encararlo con burlas o desprecios, en lugar de contribuir, de buena manera, con su solución. Nos casamos o decidimos estar juntos con el fin de afrontar la existencia como si fuésemos uno solo, con diligencia y respeto siempre.

Este texto presenta una buena reflexión. Culturalmente los hombres llevan una carga de cumplir un número de responsabilidades, ser el proveedor, solucionador, etc. A pesar del tiempo muchos no sueltan ni un poco de esa carga y parte de su ego en efecto está en satisfacer esas expectativas. No todas las mujeres son como Solvina, en lugar de reconocer los esfuerzos y animar al esposo hay quienes exigen más y más y desmeritan lo que ha hecho por alcanzar sus objetivos.
En todo caso, hombres y mujeres en general en una relación debemos apoyarnos emocionalmente.
