It doesn't make sense to kidnap a little girl and feed it dirt (do we die if we eat dirt I wonder if that's true since it is what many little children do) since the syndrome you refer to is to attract attention but grandmother never visited a doctor. Perhaps she just wanted to be sure the child wouldn't leave which brings me to the topic which was that huge loss this woman went through she kidnapped a child?
Also amazing a young doctor immediately recognizes the years ago kidnapped child which the police couldn't find. For sure this doctor has eye for detail.
