Ask other civilizations for help.

SETI has been searching for intelligent life in the universe for a long time, they track stars similar to the sun, stable stars, stars where some exoplanets have been discovered, because, even if that exoplanet is not like the Earth, when one is discovered, supposedly there must be more, we do not have the capacity to see them all.

And if it is a star similar to the Sun, it may perhaps have some planet similar to the Earth that could be emitting some type of radio, television or whatever signal, but it is complicated, it is complicated because among other things the radio and television signals do not reach very far, they are diluted with distance and after 2 to 3 years at most, there is no way to capture them because they are already diluted in the soup of general cosmic radiation, so it is complicated and on the other hand, why would they want to send signals or messages or a technological civilization can be like ours, live quietly, develop its cars, colonize, perhaps the planets that are nearby in its system, but not see the need to send any messages to other stars, among other things, because they would have to be directed and very powerful messages, right? Ok, just send a signal and it reaches everyone, no, it doesn't work like that, it fades with distance and you would have to spend an amount of cosmic energy for an open signal to reach quite far.

When I say cosmic, I am talking about a signal of a quantity of energy, like that emitted by a star for years. When we send a signal, for example, we have talked about the polar star, a signal with a message has been sent to the polar star in that direction, but they are signals directed in a very specific beam because there is no other way for it to reach its destination with acceptable quality, the distance in this case was up to 20,000 light years.

Maybe this thing about wanting to contact extraterrestrial beings is something that is fashionable among us humans of this time and in 100 years people will move on from this topic, it wouldn't be the first time, maybe we think that it is essential to contact another civilization and perhaps others don't have that concept. In short, there can be technological civilizations living peacefully, without needing to contact anyone, or not trying, or because they are afraid, as you know about the theory of the dark forest, or because they have no need at all.

However, there is a type of circumstance in which a technological civilization would be forced by necessity to seek help, imagine, we ourselves discover that we have a giant or a massive star like Betelheuse 20 light years away, Betelheuse is 750 light years away, but imagine that it is 10 light years away or 20 light years away, we would be desperate looking for a solution because, at any moment it can explode and even if it explodes within 1000 years, even if we have that certainty, scientists confirm that will explode within 1000 years, our generation and the following ones will not have any problem, but the next ones will also have it because we have it next to us and the stars do not separate, they move, but they do not move that far away in just 1000 years.

We would be so desperate that we would look for a solution and if we do not find it in our scientists and in our technology, we would try to look for it outside, that is, we would send messages of distress and help, that would be a possibility, looking for messages from technological civilizations in the environment of stars that are going to explode as supernovas, the difference between a nova and a supernova is enormous.

I think it would be a good option, to track the areas of the environment of stars that we know are going to explode a supernova, the truth is that there are not that many, but an environment up to 160 light years is an extremely dangerous environment and in 160 light years there can be quite a few stars, I remember that in 20 light years we have about 20 or 30 stars, similar to the sun.

I think very few people have thought about that, the danger exists and we have no solution for it.
