It all starts with a curiosity; the poles of the red planet

There is a place on Mars where it could hold the key, if one day humans intend to live on Mars, it is the only place on Mars where there is a lot of oxygen, they are the polar caps.

It always seems that Mars is the red planet and a desert and completely hostile planet. But then we have enormous polar caps with so much water that, if they melted, it could cover the entire Mars with an ocean about 30 meters deep. It also has frozen spiral dunes and it is due to the winds that rotate at the poles like whirlwinds and carve the ice in that way.

And at the south pole there is something quite strange, about spiders. Did you know that there are spiders at the south pole of Mars? They are not real spiders, although NASA gave them that somewhat sinister name. They are formed because the caps not only store water, but also CO2 ice; In spring, the sun heats the ground under the translucent layer of dry ice, that CO2 becomes gas, is trapped and ends up escaping with force like an invisible geyser, drawing those strange black figures on the ice.

There is another curious place near the north pole, it is a crater created by the impact of a meteorite, it is about 2 km deep and is completely full of ice, near the poles there are craters that function as cold traps, this 80 km wide Korolev crater is full of permanent ice, it is not only seasonal like the ice caps, here the ice is trapped for millions of years, if we ever build colonies on Mars, Korolev could be our source main water and it is not the only crater that keeps secrets on the red planet.
