Observations of the asteroid before and after the impact suggest that this asteroid is made up of a pile of rubble and rocks, all put together, but the latest thing that NASA published two days ago on March 19, is that the impact also Moving the asteroid a little from its orbit has modified the appearance of Dimorphos, it has changed it completely.

Before the impact Dimorphos had a roughly symmetrical oblate spheroid shape, like a flattened ball that is wider than it is tall, by the way, the orbit had a well-defined circular orbit at a distance of approximately 1189 m from the larger asteroid that is Didimos; Dimorphos with its orbit took 11 hours and 55 minutes to complete a revolution around Didimos but when Dark hit it, Dimorphos' orbit stopped being circular, its orbital period was reduced by 33 minutes and 15 seconds which It is good because it shows us that we have the capacity to deflect asteroids by at least 160 meters.

In addition to the above, the impact has completely changed the shape of the asteroid and they have published this graph, it has become an Oblate ellipsoid to a Trialxial ellipsoid, NASA says it is something similar to a watermelon; The impact was so tremendous that a lot of material was ejected from the asteroid, much of that material ended up impacting the larger asteroid; We are waiting for a mission from the European space agency to arrive at this binary asteroid and give us images that will verify how the poor Dimorphos asteroid and also the larger asteroid that received some impacts have turned out.

With this data we will have a good amount of information to be able to develop a defense plan against small and medium-sized asteroids.
