New theory, time can exist in quantum superposition

A new scientific proposal is calling into question one of the most basic certainties of our existence, the idea that time flows in a unique and continuous way, researchers from North American institutions presented a theory according to which time can exist in quantum superposition, passing quickly and slowly at the same time, in other words, for certain microscopic systems, the clock would not need to choose a single rhythm, it could follow multiple rhythms simultaneously and the idea of ​​an ancient conflict between two giants of physics, on the one hand, Albert Einstein's relativity, which shows that Time changes with speed and gravity, or quantum mechanics, where particles can exist in multiple states at the same time.

When these two visions meet, something strange happens, if a quantum object can be in superposition, then time itself associated with it could also be, it would be like the famous Schrödinger's cat, which theoretically would be alive and dead at the same time. Only, now applying aging, the cat would be simultaneously younger and older.

The above also seems absurd, but within quantum logic this is no longer impossible, if confirmed in the laboratory, the impact would be enormous, this can open new paths for future technologies, ultra-precise sensors and perhaps even to sink relativity and quantum mechanics into a larger theory.
