The Drone Swarm Eliminator

Currently there is an economically unbalanced war.

The United States Army has just demonstrated the Coyote Block 3 developed by Raytheon, showing that it is possible to neutralize entire swarms of drones with an electromagnetic weapon, without explosions, without direct hits and above all without wasting high-cost interceptors.

Drone swarms pose a difficult threat because they can overwhelm traditional defense systems, with each interceptor launched costing hundreds of thousands of dollars, while attacking drones often cost only a fraction of that.

The Coyote Block 3 arises precisely to reverse that equation, unlike previous versions that functioned as disposable missiles, this new generation maintains the jet drone format, but replaces the explosive nose with an electromagnetic energy weapon. Instead of physically destroying the target, it emits a blast capable of neutralizing the electronic circuits of enemy drones or jamming their communication systems.

An invisible attack, no direct hit, no fragments, just a pulse that turns drones into inert objects falling from the sky. Another important detail is that the coyote was designed to be reusable; after the mission it can be recovered with a net, drastically reducing the operating cost and allowing multiple operations with the same equipment.

During the tests, about 10 drones attacked simultaneously from different directions, the system used radar and framed intelligence to identify threats, automatically distribute targets and decide the best form of response, all with minimal human intervention.

When autonomous systems begin to operate on a network, a new limitation appears. How to guarantee fast, secure and impossible to intercept communication? Because the next leap in technology depends not only on smarter thefts, but on the way those intelligences connect with each other.
