China unveiled what is being described as the world's first electric eVTOL in the ton class with lift ducts, a flying saucer-shaped vehicle designed to operate in urban environments by flying close to the ground and between buildings.

According to the developers, the vehicle can take off in just 3 seconds and was designed to operate in confined urban spaces, where traditional helicopters would have difficulty.

The design uses rotors integrated within the fuselage, creating a system with lift ducts that increases stability, reduces noise and improves safety in close-to-the-ground flights. The load capacity reaches approximately 450 kg and the initial focus is not on passenger transportation, but on urban logistics, air rescue and emergency operations.

The strategy is part of a larger China-dominated low-altitude economy, a sector considered a national priority that includes drones, electric aircraft, aerial theft and autonomous transportation systems. Four different eVitol models were exhibited during the event, reinforcing that the country is accelerating the development of this new industry.

According to industry analysts, this could be the decisive year for the transition of eVitol from the experimental phase to the commercial phase with several manufacturers trying to obtain certifications for mass production, if that happens, the way we move loads even ourselves within cities could completely change.
