Artifical Intelligence (AI) has been in the public eye for several years as OpenAI's ChatGPT has shown what it can do.

AI is being embraced by corporations and individuals as a power tool of sorts that can be used to streamline processes and remove barriers in data analysis. As employees and citizens, it is important to know the precautions and limitations of any technology or tool we will use. You wouldn't drill into a live conduit, and likewise you shouldn't give AI information that is proprietary or potentially harmful if leaked.

We cannot be luddites and put AI into a box, and we cannot run headlong into a buzzsaw of unknowns either. A middle ground can be reached for maximum potential of AI applications and safety through both technological and legal frameworks. Just like electricity, AI poses advantages and threats we need to take into account before we use it.
