"It is native to Europe and is often planted near ponds. The rhizome is short and the beard roots are yellow-brown. The flower stem is branched and is 60 to 100 cm high. The leaves are about 1m long and 2-3cm wide. The flower blooms yellow in May and has two large bracts below the flower.
