EKO ATLANTIC CITY ; A CITY BUILT ON THE ATLANTIC COAST(DUBAI OF AFRICA)
Eko Atlantic City is a city built in Lagos state the commercial city of Nigeria. Eko Atlantic City is a brilliant ideas of the Lagos state government and in partnership with the private sector .the ideas was born out of controlling the Lagos city' coastline erosion problem. the Atlantic city runs between Victoria Islands, Lekki Phase1 and the Ocean coast and it is divided into seven districts which are ;
- Harbour Lights
- Business District
- Marina
- Downtown
- Avenues
- Eko Drive
- Ocean Front
and situated on 3.9squares mile and upon completion, the City will house over 800000 residents and 200000 commuters.
The Atlantic city development is joint Public–private partnership the Lagos State Government is a proportional partner, with the support of the Federal Government while the private companies and investors are the one to provide the funding for the project.
The Contractors are China Communications Construction Group, a company that deals with operation of marine dredging and landfill operation. Consultants are provided by Royal Haskoning (a transport and trafics expertise company) and Architects. South Energyx Nigeria Limited was created to undertake the development.
