The Beautiful Dieffenbachia seguine is also known as dumbcane, or tuftroot which is a species of the Dieffenbachia native to the tropical Americas ranging from southern Mexico, through Central America, to northern South America & Brazil.
It’s also native to several Caribbean islands, including the Puerto Rico.
It’s used as an ornamental & medicinal purposes, its stem & root extracts have been widely described as a narcotic, a gastric & kidney irritant which is historically used as arrow poisons by the West Indians in the new world accordingly.
