Is the plant species Carica papaya which one of the 21 accepted species in the genus Carica in the family of Caricaceae & also the name of its fruit. It was first domesticated or native to the Mesoamerica, within modern-day southern Mexico & Central America. It's now grown in several countries in regions with a tropical climate.
Papaya leaves are packed with fiber, a nutrient that supports healthy digestive function & a unique compound called papain. Papain is well known for its ability to break down large proteins into smaller and easier to digest proteins and amino acids. It is even used as a meat tenderizer in culinary practice.
