Becoming parents is the most beautiful gift that God has given us. However, being a parent is not easy and you can do whatever you want. It's a good idea for us to teach them kindness, honesty, justice and also good manners which are the basis for forming children's character. Our choice, what kind of parents do we want to be?

🙍What are the advantages and disadvantages of strict parental behavior?

Being a parent is not easy and it is not a game where there are losers and winners or I can manage it. Children are like cotton, pure white and we are the ones who form them. We must remember that we as parents must equip ourselves with parenting knowledge. Most parents think that children's learning can be obtained at school, even though this is formed from parental upbringing and interactions with those closest to them as well.

We can be firm, but don't cross the line and cause us to become parents who are harsh and excessive towards our children. I see in several sources today how some parents apply today's parenting which is not allowed to shout, let alone hit.

I live from two parents who are very strict and disciplined, especially my father. I can say that parenting in the past and today is different and that is also regulated by law. For example, I remember that at that time my brother and I spent time playing in the sea looking for rubbish until sunset, our father was already waiting at the mosque door with a piece of rattan in his hand. We were beaten on the hands and feet and it was a lesson that we have remembered for the rest of our lives until now, that we must obey all advice and cannot behave as we please.

Well, we don't hold any grudges and we are grateful for our father's firmness, until now I am always careful with my actions and try to always be honest. However, such parental assertiveness currently carries a prison sentence. In my opinion, there are times when we as parents have to be strict with our children. This firm attitude will later make them good individuals and also have high morals which makes it a stronghold for self-defense. Being firm doesn't mean forcing, being firm doesn't mean torturing, being firm doesn't mean being emotional, but being firm means that right is still right and wrong is still wrong.

🙍 What do you feel if you were in the place of such children who have to face strictness?

Mixed "it" feelings. Feelings of palpitations, anxiety, fear and of course just obeying what is said. Fear of being blamed, anxiety about the consequences, and getting unexpected punishment.

In this situation, maybe the good thing for us to do is listen without criticizing, obey if it doesn't violate anything, and if we are wrong then apologize and admit it without having to argue. We know that this attitude will shape a person's personality, and this will be very useful when they grow up.

🙍 As a child, what do you expect from your parents regarding their behavior?

As a child I am very grateful to both parents. Thanks to their firmness, I am currently growing well and don't lack anything. The firm attitude shown by our parents is for us too.

Children are the best imitators, they will imitate whatever their parents do, be it good or bad. Actually, parents are the people who love us 1000 million percent the most. They will do anything for the good of their children in the future, so the firm attitude they display is solely for the gems of their hearts.

🙍 What are the negative effects of emotional blackmailing?

This is a very scary act. The negative impact of emotional blackmailing is so big and this really affects children's psychology and also affects their attitudes towards other people. The worst thing isthe child feels bullied by everyone, mentally and emotionally ill.

Children who are affected will become very bad and create an emotional crisis so that we as parents make us people who "don't" recognize our own children. Children will act and even become criminals, because they feel that no one will care about whatever they do.
