My First Day as a Moderator

"There's always a first time for everything"

🙂

Yesterday was a really exciting day for me. I've recently taken on the role of moderator for this community, and Sundays have been assigned to me. That means every Sunday, I'm responsible for moderating the posts in Steem4Bloggers community.

So, yesterday was my first day on the job, and it turned out to be a unique and enjoyable experience. The community admins had already guided me well on how to moderate the posts, so I didn't face any major difficulties.

I moderated a total of 10 posts yesterday. This doesn't mean there were only 10 posts in the community; it's quite active, and there were many more. However, a colleague of mine had already moderated some, leaving me with 10.

It took me around 2 hours to moderate these posts. It was my first time doing this, and the internet was not cooperating, which slowed things down. But I believe I'll get better and more efficient at moderation as I become more familiar with the process.

Among the posts I moderated, many were from newbies with a Voting CSI less than 5, and some had a significant amount of liquid STEEM in their wallets that they hadn't powered up. I advised them accordingly.

There was also a case with a bid vote user that I had to inform through Feedback, but I think the user might not be aware that bid vote users don't get support. His post was really good, and if he hadn't used the voting service, I would have recommended it for Booming support. So far, I haven't received a response from this user.

Moreover, I also noticed that in this and other communities, users' tags are not updated. For instance, a user who has joined Club5050 still had the Club100 tag. I made an effort to update the tags of the posts I moderated. Yesterday, one user asked for a tag assignment, so I requested his introduction post link, which he sent today. After verifying it in the Newcomers community, I assigned him the tag.

Of the 10 posts I moderated, I nominated 4 of the best ones for Booming support. However, I must mention that all these posts just met the minimum requirement of 300 words. I urge members to aim for at least 500 words to truly qualify for Booming Vote support. Make your posts more attractive with proper markdown styling and copyright-free images.

Lastly, while it's not mandatory, setting a 15% beneficiary for the community account can significantly help our community's growth. It's not required, but by doing so, you can show your loyalty to the community. Booming support will be based on the quality of content, but if there's a tie between two posts, the one with the beneficiary set will be given preference. 😊

I would like to acknowledge some special people who provided significant guidance and support during my journey on Steemit: @dove11, @patjewell, @malikusman1, @weisser-rabe, @aaliarubab, @irawandedy and @josevas217.

Congratulations, and well done!!!
I've not doubted your ability to do it. How I wish you were female. (•ิ‿•ิ)
As for those posts with 300 words, This is the reason why my weekly contest has a rule of 550+ words, and week after week, I see improvement in the posts.

You are perfect but I will definitely avoid writing in your community. The reason- you might block me is because I always have liquid Steem in my wallet which is not a problem as long as you keep powering up regularly. My best wishes.

Haha, you've got a great sense of humor, my friend! You are always welcome in our community. Who am I to block you? In fact, I've never blocked anyone simply for having liquid Steem.

I've only informed users that they should power up their liquid Steem, especially if they aren't doing so regularly or are only doing minimal power-ups.

For instance, one user was powering up 15 Steem and withdrawing the same amount every month. Technically, he remained in Club5050, but his wallet contained more than 200 liquid Steem. That’s why I suggested he should power up.

In your case, there's no issue. You don’t need to worry at all if you’re doing regular power-ups.

PS: I'm not perfect. Still got a lot of things to learn. 😄

Just wait and watch, you'll see several new methods that will teach you something new every day. This site is full of trick inventors and no one takes notice. At most, you will get a big vote if you register your protest but they always get Scott Free.
