World Of Macrophotography "Jewel Beetle In My Lens"
Jewel Beetle In My Lens
Jewel Beetle In My Lens
It's very easy to identify jewel beetles because they have a distinctive body shape. The beetle has an elongated cylindrical and oval body shape, but tapers at the rear end to a single point. This beetle also has a hard and rather flat body with serrated antennae. I'm a little surprised because there are also those who call this insect a wood beetle, even though the glossy colors are very interesting to look at. Maybe because there are several species that have the potential to become destructive pests, because these insects have the largest family in the beetle kingdom.
That is very unique about jewel beetles is that these beetles vary in color and have complex markings. The bigger it is, the brighter the color will be. Jewel beetles are often brightly colored and always have a variety of colors on their bodies. The colors don't seem to come from absorption but from reflection of light. So it is very appropriate that this insect gets the nickname Jewel Beetle because it has a unique and beautiful body color. Hope you like it and thanks for visiting my blog.
