Playing Old Civ 6 - Day 2 The Foundation

in CCS8 hours ago

hello guys, this is my daily journal of playing civilization 6 again.

you can see my first post here : https://steemit.com/ccs/@can.gee/playing-old-civ-6-day-1-the-start

and this is the second day I play this game.

The Second Day BANG

I ended the first day on the 30th turns or the 3000 BC. It was for the first patheon discovery, so today I continued with a slow start. However on 2400 BC I got a couple of BANG

image.png

The first one was the discovery to the second world of wonder, the Gobustan. Nothing special with this one because this wonder was far from any of my cities.

The second one was the most important part, I finished the Stonehedge. This wonder gave me a prophet and that made me became the first one who found the religion.

This historical paper showed my accomplishment in this game. I found the religion in 2320 BC and 600 years later my civilization reached a golden age.

When my Civilization found a religion, I changed my stance to a defensive mode. Above was my capital when I finished the stonehedge. I recalled all the armies to gather near the capital, incase some barbarians or nearby civilizations decided to gang on me.

There was a problem with my expansion earlier. Some city stated founded and blocked my expansion. It was a pity that I needed to destroy them. They could be a great ally but I needed to find a shore to build a naval city. Else I would get stuck in the middle of continent

The Next Goals

Ok I found my religion and started to build up a religious civilization, regarding I could not get a maritime positioning in the map. So here are my next two goals for tomorrow.

Anyway before I forget, I ended the second day at 925 BC, and I hope I finish these two goals before 0 AC.

I have found one city on the shore. This is my only naval / maritime city, I can not find any opening to the ocean other than this spot. I need to make this SKIEN as a strong naval city, and this is far from easy. I might have to send some resource there using trade caravan.

My goal is to get a harbor district with atleast one sea wonder in this city.

image.png

The second one is this SKEDSMO. I established a new city near my capital, and near PARIS, a nearby other civilization capital. I have to make this city as a super stronghold, with an encampment district nearby. This will be the core of my military strength, which I need to set it there in order to suppress France from advancing near my capital.

This goal is the most difficult one, because I have to do this in the same time with my naval city. There won't be enough gold for both of them

image.png

To ease the pressure, I change my government to republic. It is to boost up the development of these two cities. There is a big risk that if someone attack me, I could lose it all.

To prevent it, I will add two more military units.

So with those, I believe I will have my civilization foundation set right.

The foundation are like these:

  1. A religious civilization
  2. Megapolitan Capital and another extra megapolitan city
  3. A strong military based city
  4. A strong naval based city

So I hope when I get to 0 AC, I have those 4 cities ready, that's when I decide whether I will expand my religion or conquer other civilizations using brute force.

Ok that's all for today, I will share again tomorrow until I get bored and move on to other game
