My "Steem Hop" Journey

I was just playing Steem Hop, by the way, and I could not believe it, I had finally reached Level 4, and I looked down today and saw that the game has restarted me all the way to Level 1. Talk about a digital gut punch! It brings a type of frustration in character-building that is only familiar to a gamer when you are almost at the finish line, and you get off back at the starting line. It is as though the game was determined to give me a modest reminder of my origins.

My "Steem Hop" Journey

I see my dashboard and I am again officially a Beginner in life. I am sitting at the Rank 48 and have a total of 163 points. Although the level started over again, I still got a nice +55 pts in the Spin Wheel today, which I suppose is a commendable prize of the amnesia the game apparently sustained!

I really feel a lot of Crossy Road when it comes to the gameplay, but with the blockchain twist. It is easy to get lost in watching my blocky little chicken avoid traffic and leaping over logs even when the rewards are mere points and pride. My highest score was 23 and I made a record of 35 this time round in spite of the reset. It shows that although the level counter may not remember the progress I have made, my muscle memory does not.

Why the Reset?

I saw that the menu indicates that there is 9 days left of the event resets in and I am contemplating that the game has a seasonal cycle. I am not trying to get fooled by the Level 1 tag, I know I am playing better than that. These vehicles have no hope.
