Sheds in Kharovsk

in CCS4 days ago

This is a completely different, but also interesting topic, I would even say, a whole little–studied layer of outbuildings - two-story sheds. There are such people in Vologda, but very few. And in Kharovsk they are in every yard. I have seen such outbuildings en masse only in Kotlas's Limenda.

I believe that they should be classified as cultural and architectural heritage, as well as the cellars.

There is a triangular dugout in the Semenkovo Museum near Vologda, needed to put at least one shed there!

In general, such sheds can be found in any locality where there are two-story wooden barracks.

But I have never seen such long sheds that were longer than the house itself.

Forty compartments (or cubicles, rooms) is even more than for every inhabitant of one semi–detached house!

And there may be several such sheds in one yard.

In my childhood, such sheds were used for various games: hide-and-seek, catch-up, and others.

And as I remember, everything was stored there – from unnecessary things to firewood, hay and various light equipment.

In some places, such sheds were used as a barn, and someone even made a bathhouse.

Photographing such sheds is not as exciting as dugouts.

Nevertheless, cellars are a journey, an adventure, a search.

The dugouts are almost always located somewhere on the outskirts of the village, they are often abandoned and the road to them is not easy at any time of the year.

And the sheds are in the yards, in front of people, under good light. But the pictures are no less interesting, especially for those who see such structures for the first time.

In general, any accumulation and variety of farm buildings looks interesting.

If there is one bathhouse or one dugout, they will not attract attention.

And when there is a lot of something, it always creates some kind of pattern...whether it's in a picture or in consciousness...

The document of the passing era is fixed, it remains to be preserved for a long time.
