Spring Nikolsk. Part 1
I really wanted to walk around this city and was preparing for this trip mentally. I know that you can't make plans for the future and expect something, because in my case it always works out in the negative. But still, what I was anticipating happened!
And I had a walk through spring Nikolsk, a district center in the Vologda region.
Everything turned out as well as possible: warm evening light, yellow almost snowless spring and good favorable weather.
And most importantly, the atmosphere of an ancient city on the Yug River.
I already know Nikolsk a little, as I walked through it one winter evening.
This time, I started exploring areas I didn't know.
There are three suspension pedestrian bridges and one automobile bridge across the Yug River.
And what is also very important: height differences.
On remote streets, of course, the concentration of people is minimal.
Nikolsk mainly has stove heating, so the houses have a lot of woodpiles with firewood.
And I couldn't pass by my favorite place, the highest point of the city in Melentevo.
Two-story barracks stand here like a ladder and offer a wonderful view of the city center.
Nikolsk is a small city, but it is very difficult to get around it at one time.
It's all about its location in relation to the Yug River.
There are not many bridges, and residential areas are located on both sides of the river.
Besides, the river makes a 180-degree detour here. Roughly speaking, the main part of the city is located in a loop formed by the river.
To be continued...
