TOPIC - MACRO riddle #2 / #club100
Like a moth to a candle flame, I was attracted by this new Macro Riddle contest created by @bambuka. Sadly, I noticed it too late to join on the first week, so I enter it now. Join the fun, dear friends! The more folks in, the more fun it may be all the way. The rules are easy, this week the goal is: take a macro shot > cut a piece of it > share > let other participants guess what it is. After the week is finished, reveal the whole image, so jury can determine the lucky guessers and pass the prizes. 🎁🎁🎁 The prize fund is 10 STEEM 🎁🎁🎁 Do I sound like I am advertising? Yes, I am.
So... after consideration I choose to shoot this little piece from my desktop. It was lying there for weeks, and became dusty and rusty, hehe...
Little hint: the size of the thing does not exceed 4*1 cm. It was useful and important once, but became completely useless nowadays. Perhaps thats all I can say... I wanted to show another little bit of the image, but perhaps that would be against the rules... and besides that, can make your guessing efforts too easy, lol. Oki-doki, wish you good luck now.

Maybe I'm going too fast, but when I saw your photo, one of those old lock keys that blacksmiths made so beautifully came to mind. I think it's the middle part of one of those keys.🗝🗝

I would have liked to make another suggestion, but I can't think of anything. A curtain rail came to mind, but at 4cm long it would be a somewhat small curtain.

Yes, the 1st guessers nailed it... which to me looks like some fantastic X-ray vision or telepathy, lol. Did I give away too much hints that make guessing easier?

At first glance it looks like a chess piece, but if it is currently rusted and has lost its use ... it could be some kind of key to a cabinet or chest. 🤔
