Beijing Guta Park
It had been a long time since I last visited Guta Park. The previous time was in winter — today, after stopping by Chongdetang, I went again and discovered that summer here is an explosion of color.
The park takes its name from the Ten Directions Buddha Pagoda. In summer, it transforms into a vivid tapestry of blooms. Entering through the west gate, the roadside is already lined with vibrant roses in full blossom. At first glance, the park may seem ordinary, but once you reach the lakeside, the scene bursts into life — a riot of hues and blossoms. I’m no expert in flowers, but I’m fairly sure I spotted roses, viburnums, irises, lotuses, and more.
You can even take a boat ride on the lake or stand at the viewing platform to watch ducks gliding playfully across the water. Yet perhaps the park’s greatest charm lies in its camping area — a delightful surprise amid the greenery.
Just inside the south gate of the North Garden lies a designated camping zone (check the posted schedule). Cross the gate, and you’ll find yourself in the South Garden, home to the magnificent Ten Directions Buddha Pagoda.
