Why No One Should Go to Lijiang!
Lijiang is about to become the most breathtaking yet most savagely over-consumed island paradise. I once tried to capture the soul of my heart through personal experience, only for the comment section to slam shut immediately. You can’t even utter a single good thing: the night-market spicy hotpot is cheap and divine, yet labeled “inedible”; the town isn’t empty, yet called “abandoned”; the thousand-year murals of Baisha are living history, yet dismissed as “not fun”; the skies feel touchable yet “pretty scenery but boring”; locals are kind yet “they carry knives”; Lalu Lake’s birds are “just water and grass”; Tiger Leaping Gorge’s roar is “just a rock”; majestic Yulong Snow Mountain never shows snow in summer; Lugu Lake steals the soul yet “looks like a reservoir”; old-man mountain hikes cost 5 yuan for a steamed bun and are called “scammed”; Wenhai Village’s free scenery costs 5 yuan for mineral water and is condemned… In the end, some souls simply find Lijiang boring and get scammed.
