The rock in the middle of the city
This is a beautiful rock found in Eastern Uganda in a small town called Tororo. It is one of the tourist attractions in Eastern Uganda and a jewel. People can climb to the top of the rock.
For non-nationals the climb or hike the rock ,they can pay a minimum of 2 dollars just for a tour guide to guide them through the trails to the top.
This rock stands right in the middle of the town surrounding . The rock was once a dominant vulcano. This rock is also called 'usuku'rock by the natives who stay around the area.
You also have an opportunity to do the following once you are near or climbing the rock:
bird watching,
Botany ,
naturewalk,
hiking
All these activities come with different prices. At the top of the rock,one can view the beautiful Mount Elgon, view the Town and see the different roof tops that the town has to offer still at the top , they are must that are for telecommunication.
Traveling to Tororo takes only 4 hours from Kampala via Jinja and iganga.
This is a place that you will not regret going to especially if you are a Backpacker you never regret having that decision to travel to Tororo town and specifically Uganda. You're welcome to the pearl of Africa
