Central Aceh KPA Responds: Don't Attack the Regional Secretary in the Media, Focus on Helping Mualem Build Aceh

The statement by the Speaker of the Aceh House of Representatives (DPR) regarding the performance of the Aceh Government, particularly regarding the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Aceh M. Nasir, has drawn a response from the Aceh Transition Committee (KPA) for the central region.

The Head of the KPA for the Linge Region, Central Aceh, Ismuddin, also known as Renggali, urged all Aceh Party (PA) cadres in the DPRA to remain solid in supporting the Aceh Government.

Renggali believes that the statements circulating in several online media outlets have the potential to create the impression of disharmony between the executive, in this case the Aceh Regional Secretary M. Nasir Syamaun, and the DPRA Speaker, Abang Samalanga.

He believes this situation could trigger negative perceptions among the public if not addressed wisely.

"Now is the time for us to help Mualem (Muzakir Manaf, ed.), as Governor of Aceh, provide the best service to the people. First, prove to the public that we work for the people, not for power struggles and blame each other. Yet, we all know this is a power grab for power-hungry parties," Renggali emphasized on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

According to him, past experiences should serve as lessons. When the Aceh Party took office, internal divisions arose. That dark period must not be repeated. Every public statement must be filtered to avoid interpretations that undermine the solidarity of the Aceh Government.

According to Renggali, the Regional Secretary is an official who enjoys the full trust of the Governor of Aceh. Therefore, if there is anything that needs to be criticized, it should be conveyed through internal channels, rather than through open statements in the media and publicity as if the Regional Secretary is incapable of carrying out his duties.

He expressed his support for M. Nasir Syamaun to prove his best performance, as Mualem, as Governor of Aceh, has entrusted M. Nasir to become the Aceh Regional Secretary. This is similar to what happened to Zulfadli when Mualem appointed him as Speaker of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRA).
"All of this takes time. We shouldn't force our will because of differences of opinion and the power interests of others. Instead, these differences should be used as a tool to complement each other in developing Aceh under Mualem's administration," Renggali explained.

He emphasized that the Regional Secretary (Secretary) is a key figure in the executive branch, deeply trusted by the highest-ranking official in the government, in this case the Governor of Aceh.

Furthermore, Aceh is currently undergoing post-disaster reconstruction. All parties are reminded to focus on helping the disaster-affected community, particularly in Central Aceh and Bener Meriah, which were directly affected by the disaster.

Renggali also expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Aceh and his staff for their extensive assistance to the people of the central region in particular, and the Acehnese people in general, who were affected by the hydrometeorological disaster.

He hopes that the executive and legislative branches can work together effectively to help Mualem develop Aceh and strive for the welfare of all Acehnese people.

In the current situation, where the executive and legislative branches are both held by the Aceh Party, according to the two regional commanders, this is history for future generations and must be utilized as best as possible for the greatness of the PA and the progress of Aceh.[]
