"National Coffee" by the Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces Command and Staff College (Sesko TNI) with Aceh National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) Alumni Discusses Various National Issues

The Regional Leadership Council of the Aceh National Resilience Institute (IKAL) Alumni Association (DPD IKAL) received a courtesy visit from the Commander of the Indonesian National Command and Staff College (SKTS), Air Marshal Arif Widiyanto, along with several senior Sesko TNI officials, during a "National Coffee" event at the BSI Aceh Landmark Building, Banda Aceh, Indonesia, Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

The Sesko TNI Commander and his entourage visited Aceh to open the 54th Sesko TNI Regular Education (Dikreg) Contingency Action Plan Preparation Exercise for Student Officers (Pasis) in 2025, which took place in Banda Aceh.

The Chairman of the Aceh IKAL DPD, Prof. Dr. Syahrizal Abbas, MA, welcomed the Sesko TNI Commander and his entourage to Aceh.

On that occasion, Syahrizal explained the existence of the Aceh IKAL Regional Leadership Council (DPD) to Air Marshal Arif Widiyanto and his entourage. Since its establishment in Aceh, the Aceh IKAL Regional Leadership Council (DPD) has carried out its duties and functions effectively. IKAL has collaborated with the Aceh Government, universities, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), banks, and several other non-governmental institutions in Aceh to help accelerate development and prosperity in Aceh.

"Following the conflict and tsunami in Aceh, various issues have emerged in this region, including economic and socio-political issues, employment, poverty, stunting, energy, food security, health, and religious life. These issues require solutions, and IKAL Aceh has contributed to addressing the various issues currently occurring in Aceh," said the Postgraduate Professor at UIN Ar Raniry.

Syahrizal explained that over the past decade, since 2017, the Aceh IKAL Regional Leadership Council (DPD) has conducted studies through seminars, discussions, and national insight training, including facilitating training activities to strengthen national values ​​in Aceh some time ago. One of the current icons of the Aceh IKAL Regional Leadership Council (DPD) is "Ngopi Kebangsaan," which has now become a national IKAL icon and has been adopted by several other IKAL DPDs across the country.

"Based on the results of the studies and discussions we have held so far, we have made recommendations to be submitted to the Aceh government, the Central IKAL, the Governor of Lemhannas, and other stakeholders," he said.

Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces Command Staff College, Air Marshal Arif Widiyanto, during the "Ngopi Kebangsaan" (Ngopi Kebangsaan) event and the friendly and familial gathering, presented an award to the Aceh IKAL DPD Management for their initiative and brilliant idea in welcoming the Sesko TNI delegation.

As is known, the highest development educational institution in the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) prepares officers for future leadership positions. This Bandung-based institution provides the highest level of management and military education, as well as conducting studies and developing doctrine for the TNI as a whole.

According to the Commander of the Indonesian Military Command and Staff College (Sesko), Aceh is a crucial, outermost, and frontier region, as well as a region devoid of conflict and natural disasters. This was the reason for the urgent decision to conduct a study in Aceh. "I am pleased to be able to join my friends from IKAL Aceh in this 'Ngopi Kebangsaan' event," said Air Marshal Arif Widiyanto, who introduced himself as having an Acehnese wife and admitted to enjoying Aceh and its unique culinary delights.

Air Marshal Arif Widiyanto explained that the Contingency Action Plan preparation exercise is an integral part of the regular education curriculum at Sesko TNI. The goal is to equip student officers with the skills to develop quick, precise, and integrated response steps in the face of emergencies and crises in their future areas of duty.

The Sesko TNI delegation attending the event included the Director of Sesko TNI Education, Brigadier General Bangkit Rahmad Tri Widodo; the Commander of the Indonesian Marine Corps Corps (Korissis), Brigadier General Amir Kasman; Strategy expert lecturer Brigadier General Achmad Solihin; Head of the Faljuang Department, Navy Colonel Tarsisius Susilo; Head of the Operations Department, Navy Colonel Yana Bahtiar; and Head of the Strategy Department, Navy Colonel Bonifasius G. Andjioe.

This gathering and "National Coffee" event took place at the BSI Aceh Landmark Building, facilitated by the BSI Aceh Regional Office. The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo.

The event was also attended by the BSI Aceh Regional CEO, Imsak Ramadhan, and Saiful Musadir, Deputy for Institutional Relations; Deputy Chair of the IKAL Aceh Regional Executive Board, Prof. Afridar; Dr. Otto Syamsuddin Ishak; Secretary Dr. Yusri Kasim; Juniazi Yahya; Denny, SSTP, M.Si; and Riza Rahmami.
