Universitas Malikussaleh Student Executive Board Distributes Food Aid to Affected Students

The Malikussaleh University Student Executive Board (BEM Unimal) in Aceh, Indonesia, distributed food aid to students affected by the floods in Sumatra, which killed more than 1,100 residents. This activity was carried out as a form of concern for Unimal students who have not yet received assistance.

The distribution of food aid took place in two locations: Bukit Indah, Lhoksuemawe, and Reuleut, North Aceh. This two-location scheme was implemented to facilitate student beneficiaries' access to aid and ensure that distribution was orderly and on-target.

The activity was led by the Head of BEM Unimal, Muhammad Ilal Sinaga, accompanied by the Head of the Student Consultative Assembly (MPM), Chandra Hasibuan; the Head of BEM FKIP, Bagas Suanri; the Head of Himagrotek, Abiansyah; and the Unimal BEM team, who enthusiastically participated.

A total of 250 students benefited from the distribution of food aid. Assistance was provided to students affected by the disaster and in need of support to meet their daily needs.

Muhammad Ilal Sinaga explained that this activity stemmed from concern for the students' plight. According to him, the distribution of basic food packages stemmed from the concerns of fellow students who had not yet received assistance. The distribution of basic food assistance to disaster-affected students was supported by a community service program run by lecturers at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta.

One of the beneficiary students, Yuda, expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by the Unimal Student Executive Board (BEM Unimal). "This means a lot to all of us. Yuda will always remember it," he said.

Through this activity, the Unimal Student Executive Board hopes to ease the burden on affected students and foster a spirit of solidarity and caring within the Malikussaleh University campus.[]
