At the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Akwa ibom state, Nigeria for the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers match against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.

I don't really like match but then I witness this match as it was played live at international stadium in my city Uyo.

My crew

I went with my family and of course we had fun. At first when the match started, I didn't really had interest but then later on when the players were more intense I started having interest.

At this point my husband and his brother were giving me updates and explaining some questions that I asked about the match and that is when I started understanding what was actually going on.

The most popular Nigerian footballers Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen were up to defend their country and to meet their target of qualifying for the African world cup in 2025. So they tried their best to take the supper eagles to another step of achieving this dreams.

The first half was really interesting because at this point I understood the aim of the players and what actually their target were in the game.

The Benin Republic’s goalkeeper, Saturnin Alagbe was really amazing as he tried all possible best to stop any ball from entering the net but unfortunately for him, Lookman saw that time was against them and the game will soon be over so he produces a memorable moment to give Nigeria the lead.

The joy on the faces of Nigerians

The second half began with addition of the most famous Nigerian player Victor Osimhen. He proof that he is indeed very good at what he does best. The super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali also tried his best to stop all free-kicks and was conscious of his goal post.

However, 12 minutes into the second half, Victor Osimhen, scored the second goal making his people proud of him. Then few minutes later about 82 minutes into the game, Lookman scored his second goal.

This makes it 3-0 which means that the super eagles are qualified to take another step forward to another African country for another competition. They will be going to Rwanda on Tuesday at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

On our way home with my best crew

It was really an emotional game, the city of Uyo was crowded yesterday with people full of jubilation and I felt the spirit of football match as well. It was a nice experience.
