Qatar's prime minister says Gaza discussions are at a critical time and the truce is not complete
Talks to unify the US-supported truce in the Gaza war are on a critical level, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said on Saturday.
Mediators are making a step towards the next level of the truce, al-Thani, whose nation has been a key facilitator in the battle, said in a panel discussion at the Doha Forum conference in Qatar.
Violence has not been stopped, as on October 10, the Gaza truce went into effect; however, at least seven people were murdered on Saturday.
The talks on the international security force.
U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to conclude the two-year fight in the Palestinian enclave is still being negotiated.
Thursday, an Israeli delegation held meetings with mediators in Cairo to talk through the repatriation of the final prisoner detained in Gaza, the first step of the Trump plan.
Hamas has since that time handed back all of 20 living hostages and 27 bodies as a part of the agreement in favor of nearly 2,000 Palestinian detainees and convicted convicts.
Israel stated recently that it will shortly open the Rafah Crossing to depart through Egypt, and also, if the last of the hostages is returned, it would open leave admission into Gaza through Rafah.
According to the vision of Trump, the intermediate Palestinian government will be technocratic in Gaza. It will be under the supervision of an international peace board and a multinational security force. The composition and mandate of the force have been of particular concern in terms of arriving at a consensus.
Despite the cessation of the combat, Israel has continued targeting Gaza and destroying what it finds to be Hamas infrastructure. The responsibility for infractions has been swapped between Hamas and Israel.
On Saturday, Palestinian local health authorities said that Israeli fire had killed seven people in Beit Lahiya, Jabalia, and Zeitoun in the north of Gaza, and a 70-year-old woman was killed in a drone attack.
According to the Israeli military, in two different incidents on Saturday, those stationed behind the so-called yellow line of withdrawal, which was agreed upon during the truce, shot Palestinian terrorists who crossed it, killing three.
One of the representatives of the military has said that they did not know of any drone strikes.
