Hi everyone, it's @investor08. I Woke up early, checked the gas and realized it was almost empty. No cooking without it, so I got up, got dressed, and headed out to refill. The morning was quiet and cool, perfect for a quick run to the station before the day got busy.

I sorted out the money real quick because I knew I couldn’t put it off. Opened my wallet, checked what was left from the week, and counted it out right there on the table. It wasn’t much, but it was enough for a refill, so I didn’t waste time second-guessing it. Once I had it sorted, I headed out right away. No point dragging it out when cooking depends on it. I made sure to grab my keys, locked up, and went straight to the station before I got distracted or the morning rush kicked in. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes, but getting it done early meant I could get back to the rest of the day without it hanging over me.

On the way going to the station I noticed this small coconut tree right by the wall, and what caught my eye was how it was propped up with three wooden stakes tied around the trunk. The tree itself wasn’t tall, but it was already carrying a heavy bunch of green coconuts low on the stem. Without those supports it probably would’ve leaned over or snapped, especially with the weight and the wind. It looked almost deliberate, like someone had been watching it grow and stepped in to give it a chance. Seeing that made me stop for a second, it’s small but there’s something about a tree being held up so it can keep growing that sticks with you.

Just on my way to the station, I caught two random sights back to back. First was this small coconut tree by the wall, propped up with three wooden stakes tied around the trunk. It wasn’t tall yet, but it was already holding a heavy bunch of green coconuts low on the stem. Without those supports it would’ve leaned over for sure.

A little further on, I passed a small rice farm tucked behind a low block wall. The field was full of young green shoots sitting in shallow water, planted neat and even like someone had taken their time with it. Banana trees were growing along the top of the wall behind, and the road in front was muddy with a big puddle.

Got to the station in about 10 minutes, and it was quieter than I expected. Handed over the cash, watched them refill the cylinder, and checked it wasn’t leaking before I paid. Quick, straightforward, no wahala. That was the last thing I needed to check off before heading back.

Got back home, set the gas up, and got straight to cooking. Put the jollof on first since it takes about 35–45 minutes with the simmering at the end, then sliced the plantain for dodo while it was cooking that took another 8–10 minutes once the oil was hot. The kitchen smelled normal again once the flame was on. Nothing fancy, just jollof and fried plantain, but I ate it to my satisfaction and it felt good to have it handled and off my mind.
