The Dairy Game: Going To Church With My Sister And Going To Work (14-03-2026)

Hello darlings, my name is Ekemini Edet but my username on steemit is kemkem1.Today was a good day, and the highlight of my activity was going to church. I woke up quite late in the morning, so the first thing I did was to go to my siblings’ rooms to call them for our morning prayer. After the prayer, everyone went back to their different chores while I stayed back to make a phone call to a vendor I wanted to buy something from. The call took a long time because I was trying to bargain the price so that it would be more affordable for me. After the call ended, I went straight to the kitchen to start preparing the palm fruits we brought back from the village yesterday. I needed to boil and pound the palm fruits because we wanted to use them to cook banga soup later, even though we were not cooking it that morning. I just wanted to prepare everything on time and keep it ready for when it would be needed. When I finished the work in the kitchen, I went to the bathroom to have my bath and get dressed for church. After dressing up, I left the house together with my sisters, and we all went to church feeling happy and ready for the service.

When we arrived at church, we were already late and the service had started. We quietly entered and joined the congregation. The sermon was very inspiring, and the worship session was also wonderful. Everyone was happy to be in the presence of God. After the normal church service ended, there was a special thanksgiving for one of our church members who was celebrating his 50th birthday. He came out with his family to thank God for his life. They sang many thanksgiving songs, and the whole church rejoiced with them. It was a big celebration because many important people were present. Some dignitaries came from the Government House and from the political sector. There was also a representative of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, which made the occasion more special. It was truly a big ceremony, and everything was done to the glory of God. After the thanksgiving, food was shared in the church for everyone to eat. People were also invited to continue the celebration at a reception that was held at an event centre. It was a joyful day, and many people stayed back to celebrate together.

At the end of the thanksgiving service, my sister and I left the church and went back home because I was travelling to work that same day. We got home late, and I did not even wait to eat because I did not want to miss my bus. I quickly went to the bathroom, had my bath, dressed up, packed my things, and left for the park. When I arrived at the park, I paid for my seat in the bus, and after a short time the bus became full and we started the journey. Unfortunately, I was not lucky with the bus I entered because it was not in good condition. Not long after we left, the bus started bringing out smoke, and everyone inside became worried and started complaining. The driver did not listen to anyone and continued driving as if nothing was wrong. Because of the smoke, he could not drive fast, so the journey became very slow and tiring. The bus managed to move like that from Uyo to Aba, and the whole time I was just praying for safety. I thank God that in the end we arrived safely without any accident, because it could have been worse.

When I arrived at my lodge at my workplace, the first thing I did was to clean up my space and make sure everywhere was neat and arranged. I knew I would be staying there for the next one week, so I wanted the place to be comfortable for me. After cleaning and arranging everything, I started feeling very tired because of the long journey. I was also very hungry since I did not eat anything before travelling. Because there was no cooked food in the lodge, I decided to go outside to buy something I could eat quickly. I went to a nearby shop and bought plantain chips and a bottle of Pepsi. It was not much, but it felt very refreshing after the stressful day I had. When I came back to the lodge, I sat down, ate my snacks peacefully, and drank the Pepsi. After eating, I felt a little better, so I laid down on my bed and rested for the day. Thanks for reading.
