Attending to responsibility after a long work day.

I left the house to the office early in the morning of yesterday, Tuesday, 23rd September because of the call I received from one of my clients to prepare a CV for her to use for interview she needed to attend by 8 am. Upon working in the office, I was still thinking of the task I had left unfinished at home.

On Monday 22nd September, my wife and I had been excited to start our son, Prince's educational journey at Kings and Queens Royal Schools. The school had provided us with an admission form, which I was to fill out and return to the school management.

However, in the chaos of preparing for work and celebrating Akwa Ibom State's 38th Anniversary, I had forgotten the form on the dining table. My wife, who is also a teacher at the school, had reminded me about the form, but I had assured her I will take care of it as soon as I got home from work.

But as the day went by, and I got caught up in jobs in the office moreover there was a state wide public holiday that yesterday because of the said state's 38th Anniversary which there was no school. The form slipped my mind. I left the office very late and I walked through the front door, exhausted, around 10 pm, that I remembered.

Luckily, my wife had thoughtfully left the form and a pen on the table, exactly where I will see it. I smiled, feeling grateful for her reminder.

After changing into comfortable clothes and taking a refreshing bath, I settled down to fill out the form. As I carefully wrote out our son's details and our own contact information as required on the form, I felt a sense of pride and responsibility.

This is just the beginning of Prince's educational journey, and I am determined to be more mindful and supportive every step of the way.

With the form finally complete, I felt a deep relief. I placed it safely on the table for my wife to take it to school this morning. In fact, as I'm making this post, my wife and Prince had left for school with the admission form, ready to hand it over to the school management when they get to school. I feel excited for the new chapter that lie ahead for our family.
