[ My Local News ] In Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government falls

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan who came to power on 18 August 2018, has been overthrown after losing the no-confidence movement led by the opposition. A very well anticipated National Assembly's Session was held near midnight, where 174 out 342 members voted against Imran Khan in a no-trust motion.

On March 8, 2022, opposition tables the no-confidence motion against PM but he claimed it to be part of a "foreign-funded conspiracy" hatched to oust him from the power. On April 3, 2022, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Qasim Suri dismissed the no-confidence motion, and termed it "unconstitutional" and "treasonous".
Following the order President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi upon advice from the PM Imran Khan dissolved the National Assembly and demanded early elections. But a few days later Supreme Court restored the National Assembly; and declared the government's decision to dissolve the assembly and the speaker's ruling, against the Constitution and ordered National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser to call an assembly session on Saturday to proceed with the voting. And during the much-anticipated session which the government kept delaying, 174 members of the opposition voted in favor of the motion leading to Imran Khan's removal from the power.

Two days ago on Friday Imran Khan addressed the nation where he seemingly accepted his inevitable fate and advised his supporters to stay strong and urged them to stage peaceful protests after the new "imported government" will come into power as he also expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court’s verdict on the National Assembly deputy speaker’s decision on the rejection of no-trust motion against him. He said, “I will not accept this imported government, I will take to the street. Only people can bring me to power and I will come back with the help of the people”.
