The Diary Game: [23/06/2026] Work resumes after a turbulent weekend

Following a very difficult weekend where I got the painful news of the demise of my long time school friend Johnson, I finally managed to pull myself together today to resume work.

I took my bath earlier than usual and dressed up before anyone in my compound. By 8:30 AM, I was already on my way to the bus stop. I reached the bus stop after just 10 minutes.

I was ready to start the day on a clean slate but just couldn't. The thought of Johnson's death kept coming to my mind. Why so soon? Death must be really wicked, I said to myself.

Shortly after, I saw people moving to and fro, going around doing their daily activities. That reminded me that the world will continue regardless and the death of one man won't turn the universe into a void. People will continue to live and do their things. It was an important lesson for me.

I watched the road, seeing water logged on it following another heavy downpour of rain. My bus arrived at 9:AM and I left for the office. My mood improved at work because the enormous tasks on my desk gave me no time to continue thinking.

I wrote a few proposals, responded to emails and coordinated some activities with some other staff. Fortunately, before closing, one of the proposals I sent yielded fruits and bagged a partnership for the company.

I left the office with a proud feeling after closing, knowing I've contributed in pushing the company a step further. I took another bus to return home and arrived at 5:30 PM.

After taking my meal and relaxing for a few minutes, I went to my backyard farm to clear some grass and plant some crops. I rounded up when darkness started setting and returned to the house. I think it is a productive day.
