"Acting As A Good Samaritan"
Good day everyone, it's been a while over here, I was going through my feed when I saw this contest, it ready grabbed my attention and I really want to appreciate @saintkelvin17 for bringing this up, you know we live in a world where people only help others to either show off or just to get something from then and if they don't get any of those, they will feel bad, permit me to share my 1 cent in this contest.
Who Is A Good Samaritan?
A very good question at that, I would say to the best of my knowledge that a good samaritan is one who shows an act of kindness willingly and because he or she is being moved by compassion to help another person be it know or unknown to them.
These set of people do come through for people on their worst days and they won't even care because it doesn't really matter if they gain a thing or not but their primary objective is that people around them stay happy and okay.
When Last Did You Help Someone And What Did You Help The Person With?
Normally, I don't like saying or letting people know what I do for others because the main essence of humanity is to see that we are all living fine but for the purpose of this contest, let me just share an incident I helped someone. So there is this Deaf and dumb guy I do see him walk pass my house everyday, he do look very hungry and I would feel pity for him.
One evening, I was outside and he approached me and gave me a sign language, I wasn't familiar with it so I asked him to write what he needs me to help him with on the ground, he wrote "Garri", I knew he was hungry, he is an apprentice as well, so I took him to the nearby shop and bought garri for him.
Why Did You Help This Person? how Much Did It Cost You?
I never had a reason to but I feel humanity needs more of love than hatred. I helped him because I felt like doing it, I was moved with compassion to do so and if the coin flipped, I would need someone to help me as well.
Secondly, I was brought up in a Godly home, my parents would tell me that helping others open ways for me and emphasis was on the Bible where Paul said that "It is better to give than to take". So giving to me is an instruction from the bible I shouldn't take for levity.
Then lastly, he asked me to buy him a cup of garri but looking at him, he needed more than a cup of garri and what if he might need it the next morning? So I just bought 4 cups of garri which cost just #500 naira which is equivalent to 1.2 steem.
What Benefits Did You Derive By Offering Help?
I don't think there is ever a day I helped to get rewarded by anyone, I just do it for the sake of God and humanity. I have mentored so many people on steemit without charging a dime from them, I don't need anything, I only want people to stay happy around me and live the best of their lives.
Also, I help to be blessed by God and not human, I help because if I was in their shoe I would asked for help and I wouldn't be happy if I am not helped. I want the universe to align the stars for my own good, that's why I help without asking for anything in return from people.
I am inviting @purpleidy23 , @etette and @uyaiuyo to participate in this contest.
