The Diarygame: 4-1-2026, A peaceful First Sunday

Hello everyone, greetings to you all. It's that time of the day again and I humbly welcome you all to today's episode of The Diary Games on my blog. Today has been a very calm and peaceful day where I did a lot of sleeping and resting. So guys, sit tight and enjoy as I narrate to you all about how my day went.

So guys, today being Sunday, January the 4th has been a really smooth and hitch-free day. I slept alot to be honest. As a matter of fact, I didn't leave my room until it was almost 11 o'clock!! (AM). As at when I finally woke up, i met an empty house as my mom, elder sister and two junior cousins had all gone to church. So immediately I brushed my mouth, I began to feel hungry. I checked the pot of soup to see if it's been warmed already so I could dish a little and eat, but it wasn't and so I took the pot from my mom's room where she usually keeps cooking pots that contain food to avoid ants entering her pot of food in the kitchen since the kitchen hasn't yet been properly set up. So I lit the gas and placed the pot of soup on fire while I monitored it. After a while, soup was properly warmed and so I put the pot of soup down and then a kettle of water next so that I can make swallow commonly called eba in Nigeria when the water boils. After about 10 minutes, water started boiling and so I got my turning stick which is used to turn the garri until one gets the desired consistency and then made the swallow. It was just I and my dad at home and so I cut a little portion from the swallow I had made into my dad's garri bowl and then scooped out a little soup into his soup bowl as well and then took it to him in the living room where he was sat watching TV. After serving my dad, next was to serve myself. So I dished a little portion of soup and cut out a little portion of eba and sat in the kitchen to eat. Some minutes later, I was done eating and then I went back into my room. Minutes later, I was fast asleep again. I slept until it was 3pm in the afternoon. I had no intention of going out and so I came outside and sat at the veranda of our house while scrolling through my cell phone. While outside, I could hear my elder sister talking to someone on the phone, turns out it was Mama Enangha, a former neighbor at our old residence. About an hour later, behold Mama Enangha alongside her daughter and son. It was such a memory!! We all spoke and laughed so loud that even some of our neighbors were wondering what could be exciting us so hard! Mama Enangha and her kids stayed for about two hours and then when it was almost 6pm, she said it was time they started leaving as the distance from our current place of residence to our former place is quite far. So I and my elder sister walked her and her two kids to the main road, where she boarded a bike that took her and her kids to the main highway where they boarded a vehicle home. While they boarded the vehicle home, I and my sister proceeded to return home. On our way home, we made a little stop at a provision shop along the road where my sister bought a carton of Viju milk drink and a carton of biscuit for her friend's kids who will be coming to visit tomorrow.

She also withdrew some money for whatever expenses we will be embarking on tomorrow. After buying those aforementioned items, we continued trekking home. I carried both the Viju milk carton and carton of biscuit as well. 20 minutes later and we were home. I took the items we bought inside, though I dropped them in the parlor. I hadn't taken my bath since morning though and so I poured some water into a bathing bucket and stood somewhere comfortable outside and took my bath. After bathing, I went to the kitchen where my mom had already dished out my soup into a bowl and so all I had to do was cut eba into another bowl and I then brought the food outside and ate. Dinner secured for the day!. Afterwards, we all sat outside discussing.

It was a really wonderful family moment. Some minutes later, electricity was restored and so my mom and elder sister went inside to watch TV. I decided to stay outside for a few more minutes to catch some more fresh air before going to bed. As we speak, I am still lying down on a mat outside. Once I'm up from here, it's straight to bed in my room. Should there be any further events tonight, y'all be rest assured I'll let you all know on the next edition here. For now, bye guys. Love you all!! 😘🤩🥹
