Between Pleasure and Happiness

Greetings, fellow steemeans

Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of our beloved community. May we always be under His protection!

Pleasure and happiness are two words that are probably familiar to us, and we may even have experienced them frequently in our daily lives. Although these two words are often used interchangeably, in reality, they are two very different things.

Pleasure is usually defined as a person's outburst of joy and elation over a pleasure or success. However, in reality, this joy can be temporary. This joy is often focused on physical satisfaction and often depends on something external to us.

Happiness, on the other hand, is an expression of gratitude for what has been achieved in this life. Happiness also brings inner and outer peace to the heart. This happiness is more lasting because it is rooted in the deepest recesses of the heart. Happiness is a form of qanaah that is always grateful for what there is.

There are many examples we can discuss and even witness in this life. Happiness is more dependent on material things, wealth, power, and even popularity. If someone has everything they desire, then happiness is naturally within them. But if the opposite occurs, can we experience happiness without having anything to be proud of? The answer is, of course, no.

However, happiness doesn't require all of that; it comes from divine light, which reaches the souls of those who are steadfast in their faith and contented. Those who achieve happiness don't necessarily hold high positions, possess abundant wealth, or attain worldwide fame. Happiness can be found even in the poverty and destitution of life. Because happiness originates from a pure heart and a faithful soul.

Although pleasure and happiness are two different things, they are also related. Pleasure is part of happiness, but true happiness does not depend on pleasure.
