If only the sun could drink the day and be drunk,
Staggering her way to her palace in the west,
She may catch a beautiful sight of the nights,
When the moon steps from her hut to light up the space.

If only the yellow leaf could stick to her branch,
Shaking off nature's sounds calling her to take a dive,
Maybe she'll be so lucky to live in the days of new rain,
And flesh could cover her bones for yet another span.

If only the dead man could war with his departing soul,
Holding onto his sickbed with his very last strength,
He may live longer than death wanted him to,
And make longer the smiles on the face of his family.

If only Saturdays could walk an extra mile round the clock,
And last 25 hours hanging on the hem of the calendar,
She may catch a beautiful sight of a Sunday bliss,
When the rituals are made and a new week is born.
