When the men of God arrived at the village of Umunanta, they had been welcomed peacefully. The king had given them a place to stay for as long as they wanted. He had told them that him and his people worshipped only the river goddess but her demands were becoming to much and they would gladly worship the God of the strangers if only they could help them defeat the goddess.

Pastor Mike had thanked the king and promised to do all he could. But a few days later, he could tell that the king wasn't joking when he said the kingdom had a lot of problems. So pastor Mike decided to handle it one by one.

The first case he handled left his mouth opened in shocked. "Surely, there was no way science could explain this" he thought to himself.

An heavily pregnant lady had been brought into the small room he used as an office for counseling and she had opened up to him. She told him that there was this tradition that happened every ones in three years where the rivers goddess sends one of her spirits to go into the village and plant its seed.

Pastor Mike didn't understand the message the young lady was trying to pass until she looked down at her stomach and then back at him.

“Jesus christ!” the pastor exclaimed. “Are you saying the baby is..”

“Yes man of God. I've never known any man, I'm still a virgin”.

Pastor Mike was confused. The only time he had heard about a pregnant virgin was two thousand years ago and even he didn't see it, he only read about it in the good book. “How?”

“The spirits picks who ever it wants and we usually don't know who that is until the third day when the stomach starts protruding.”

“Wait.. Are you saying you're only three days old?” the perplexed pastor asked.

“Yes pastor and I will be due to give birth on the seventh day.”

“What?!”

“And then I will die after. No one lives beyond the seventh day.” the lady said while sobbing.

“Not if the good lord has something to say about it.” Pastor Mike said and immediately called the other pastors, they had work to do.
