My peaceful adventure to the church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle

A sleeping church

Hi guys! After a long time I remembered to make a post :) I haven't had much time lately because I'm going to university soon, but I found some time to visit some beautiful places and breathe fresh air. So let's go on a peaceful adventure. I went on a tour of Orthodox churches. I have visited many Orthodox churches, so you will have a lot to learn. The first church I visited was the church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle. This church is located in a small village called Malo Orasje near my town. The weather partly served us. It wasn't raining, but it was gloomy, and everything around us was somehow sad. Everyone around us was sleeping, only I was walking around with my camera and taking pictures. I caught the right moment so that no one could see me while I was taking pictures of them :D

The village is beautiful, and the church is even more beautiful. I don't know the history of this church, I couldn't find it on the internet, I also didn't find anyone to ask about this church. It seems to me that it has been renovated, everything is nice, neat and clean, you can smell incense in the air.

I may not have found the history of this church, but there is definitely a history of this saint. This is the church of Saint Bartholomew the Apostle.

Apostle Bartholomew was one of the twelve apostles whom Jesus Christ called to be his disciples and to help him spread his message. Bartholomew was famous for being mentioned in the New Testament, where he was described as a man who came from Galilee. His name is also associated with one of the four Gospels, which is the Gospel according to Mark.

According to tradition, Bartholomew was a fisherman before he became an apostle and was later sent to preach in Persia. However, his ultimate fate is unknown, and there are different stories about how he died. Some stories mention that he was shown to animals as food, while others say that he was killed because of his religious beliefs.

Although very little is known about Bartholomew, he is still known as one of the twelve apostles who were with Jesus Christ in his mission and who influenced the development of Christianity. His image is often depicted in art, and his name is mentioned in many Christian liturgies.

I know this post is a bit short, maybe I lack inspiration. I'm a little out of sync, but I promise I'll be back, and try to make the posts as good as possible. It is worth visiting such historical buildings, you learn something new, go around the surroundings, breathe fresh air, that's how you stay healthy :D

Thanks for the great pics of that nice church. I have heard of Saint Bartholomew and there are several churches dedicated to him in the place where I grew up.

I hope you do come back here again soon! :)
