Introduction
Hello dear people of steemit community and my dear beautiful people of Colombia accept warm and best regards from Cameroon this beautiful morning. I am so excited to be part of this engagement challenge in your community and others. I am particularly excited because I intend to meet beautiful friends from Colombia. I hope you people are doing well this beautiful engagement season.
This is climate change awareness and a lot has been said already we want to see people actively involved in taking care of the climate. Your action may be small but I tell you it is worth taking because small actions will make a big difference and these efforts must be collective if not the impact will not be felt. If I take any action here in Cameroon and you do not do same in Colombia or in other areas then the action may not really be effective since climate change is a global issue and not a local issue.
There are many actions we can take to fight against climate change. Like I said it does not really matter how small it is. Small actions will create bigger change in the nearest future.
If you are not aware of these actions I am going to list some here. We can take actions such as;
- Planting and replacing trees we cut down,
- Carrying out sensitization around the community, radio and other platforms to create general awareness,
- These are just a few of the actions we can actually indulge in to be able to save our planet.
What have you done and what are you doing?????
Well this is little I have done and I am still doing to be able to save our beautiful planet from destruction.
First and foremost, I am a teacher and I spend time sensitizing students and creating much awareness in class on how they can effective take care of their environment. The youths are the future generation and should be taught on ways to be able to manage and take care of the environment. The future of our planet is in the hands of the youths and it should not be jeopardize. I teach geography and one of the topics I take it very serious is climate change.
Furthermore, I am taking it upon myself to sensitive those around my work area the importance of getting rid of plastics around the work environment. We have effectively set aside one day in a week where we pick plastics and put them in bags where the council truck passes and collect.
We also clean the gutters and make sure it is free from rubbish so that the runoff can easily flow without any disturbance.
I have also taken time to sensitize my dad about the importance of planting trees and since he is a bee farmer he spends time planting around the compound. He fines it very beneficial since the trees produce flowers and the bees get nectar from it. So it is a win situation for my dad. He plants the trees for the bees and it in turns save as major tool in climate control.

The action towards the fight against climate change is a collective effort and everyone is supposed to come onboard. I therefore call on different stakeholders to be active and stay on the playground so that together we can fight the dreaded climate change and save our planet. I am so proud of the actions of most of my climate activists like the @thegreens and @chant who are actively involved in the climate change fight. Kudos !!!!! To all I know we will win no matter the cost .

Yes indeed a good balance. My dad is so passionate about plants and he loves honey . That is why he spends time planting trees..

You said it all, it's a collective effort which every one should do his or her little in their conner. We at our office, we encourage the habit of reused of papers. That is making sure we used papers like A4 on both side before disposal.
Plastic waste is a big problem for us, for now we have some people who come by and collect, which is then sold to be used to bottle local drinks.
Climate change fight is a universal fight, so no one is left out in the fight. Thanks for sharing.
Ohhhh.. I never really thought of this. Once a paper is a bit twisted with us we just dump. I think i will really implement this at my shop.
Yes this is a very good way to recycle. We only pray God that the plastics get back again to the producers of local drinks and back again🤣 If not you will find them in the streams.

You have done so much in taking care of your planet, sensitizing your student is really good because this will continue to remember the importance of taking care of their environment.

It is true brother, climate change is real and you are doing a really good job. And it is a matter which should be taken care of on an urgent basis. The country I live in is most effective because of climate change, but I hope the world will tackle it soon.

This is beautiful, thanks for the sensitization. It will do good than harm because we all the Importance of planting trees. Trees help In preventing global warming from occurring, trees also serve as habit and food to most animals and birds.
I think this is very important because when our gutters are filled with rubbish, it attract harmful insects and mosquitos which will inturn be harmful to man.
Sensitization about dangers of pollution is very important. About the plastics, the most important way to get rid of it is by burning it because we know that plastics are not decomposable of thrown on dustbins, thrashes or in the bushes

You are correct bro but when we burn it msy also cause pollution problems. @fombae suggested a better idea which reusing theplastics .I think it is beter for them to be reused than burnt...
Education starts with children! There is no better way in which you as a teacher can help to save this world.

Waste management in our cities in our society is of utmost importance that we should educate our children on the need of.
My junior brother has a forest in the village as thick as that of your father and while he was busy planting trees most of my steps brothers were asking him why would he instead do what father's are supposed to do.
Years later, I saw the importance of aforestation and it's such a small Forest there. When next I visit my village, I definitely will take pictures too
Very necessary to educate them because they are the future and climate change and the solution will further lie in their hands when we are gone..
