Alone Journey: Some Words with Yourself

Our little life is constantly going on with a strange equation. Every day we walk, talk, and laugh in a crowd of thousands of people. However, at the end of the day, when I stand alone by the window, I see myself in front of the mirror. Our journey actually started alone, and it will end the same way. From this thought, a sentence echoes in the corner of my mind without my knowledge: "Alone, I live alone, this is how I will leave one day."

It may sound a little sad to hear, but deep down there is a strange peace. We seek the company of people all our lives, and we want to hold on to our loved ones. But with time, we realise that it is very easy to lose ourselves in a crowd of people, but it is very difficult to be alone with ourselves. I believe that being alone does not mean loneliness. Rather, being alone means knowing one's inner self, rediscovering one's likes and dislikes.

Sometimes I think, for whom are we running so much? For whom are we organising so much? The illusion, relationships, and busyness of this world—all of this will have to be left behind one day. When we first saw the light of day in this world, no one was with us. And when we go to the other side of life, there is still no chance to take anyone with us. In the time between this coming and going, we only weave a garland of memories. But the main melody of life is actually hidden in that 'alone'.

I am no longer afraid of being alone. Rather, I enjoy this silence of loneliness. When the surroundings are quiet, I hear my own heartbeat. I understand my mistakes, and I learn to live with my own small dreams. We often get tired of fulfilling people's expectations. Then this feeling of being 'alone' gives us new strength.

At the end of the day, what we achieve is what we have taken care of in our own minds. When you leave, you have to go alone. No wealth or person can stand by your side on that day. So I am preparing myself for that moment. I know that I came alone, I will stay alone, and one day I will leave silently. If I can accept this truth, all the cries of life will calm down in an instant.

In the midst of this noise of the world, I have come to love my loneliness. Because I know that even if all the relationships or infatuations in the world end, at least I will be with myself until my last breath.
