Mondays Turkish Cup event caught me early but the game vs Cyprus 🇨🇾 started calm. From kickoff I just decided to play possession football the whole first half. No long balls, no panic. Short passes, move the ball left to right, drag their midfielders out. Cyprus kept running but they couldn’t touch the ball. Every time they pressed high I’d just play one-two touches and we were out. My team looked patient sha.

Then the goal came and it was proper madness. Kelvin De Bruyne picked up the ball deep in my own half, around the center circle. I didn’t plan anything, just saw space and started carrying. First player came to press, I dribbled past. Second one tried to slide, same thing. I just kept going, dribbling from my half all the way into their box. Nobody could catch him. When I reached their post I just placed it in calmly. 1-0 and I was screaming on my screen 😂 Felt like a real solo run.

After that goal the half was easy and swift. I just controlled the tempo. Keep ball, recycle possession, wait for them to open up. Cyprus barely saw the ball the whole 45 minutes. When the whistle went for halftime I checked stats and I was on 60-something percent possession, they were stuck on 30-something. No stress from them at all. First half ended 1-0 and I was already thinking this match was mine.
