Saguaro - silent sentinels in the Southwest
The stately Saguaro cactus (Carnegiea gigantea) is one of the quintessential symbols of the American southwest, especially here in Arizona.

These giants live up to 150 years so the ones pictured could be between 70 to over 100 years old.
In the Spring months the arms are crowned with masses of large white flowers that attract all sorts of pollinators.
