The humpback whale or, also known as the humpback, is one of the largest cetaceans of its species since it can easily measure 18 meters and reach a weight greater than 36,000 kilograms. This animal has a similar ability to the dolphin because, it has acrobatic skills since, it loves to jump on the surface of the sea and in that activity, they hit the water when they fall with great force.

Referring to the male humpback whale we can highlight that, they emit a very complex song which takes between 10 and 20 minutes of projection. In the same way, this sound is repeated several times during the day and the purpose that this species has when emitting said sound is to make it clear that they are in the process of mating.

Of the various species, the humpback whale is one of the most popular and among its physical characteristics we can note that, in its dorsal fin it has a hump and due to this, the name that identifies it originates. In the same way, it has 2 nostrils of large size and depending on the geographical area of origin, they can be larger or smaller.

Generally, the humpback whale lives in cold places and those that live in this place, weigh 50 tons, however, those that come from tropical areas, weigh 30 tons. As far as the tail is concerned, it is very long and wide enough to generate a strong blow when impacting the water after doing a stunt. According to those who have visualized this show, they assure that, this impact can promote a wave.

It should be noted that, this whale has large fins and thanks to them, it manages to make one of the highest and strongest jumps out of the water for it, it has been given the recognition that this species has wings because when it makes these jumps, the appearance of being flying arises. On the other hand, it is public knowledge that the whale has a large heart in which it has 4 different chambers.

As with other species, female humpback whales are larger, this being a great differential factor with males since, thanks to this, females can reach 15 and a half meters; the male species only registers a measure of 14 meters, however, it is essential to note that, in the southern hemisphere they managed to find a male whose measurement was 17 meters.

Regarding the tone of the humpback whale, in the area of the back it is black and in the belly it changes color reflecting a white or some species reach the mottled hue. Now, in the head we observe that there are several protrusions of their own and they are called tubers. The dorsal fin is variable of small size. Keep in mind that, in the pectoral fins, black spots are also observed and in some species they extend throughout the body of the animal.

On the other hand, the humpback whale is a very active animal since, constantly it is in movement and when they are in captivity, they are trained to offer acrobatic shows, however, in freedom it is normal to see them constantly come to the surface to take a breath and juggle. A curious fact about this whale is that they are usually very sociable, they listen to sounds, voices or songs at a long distance and follow them to be close to those who emit it.

The humpback species lives in small groups and they like to rotate, because of this, the only bond that endures is between mother and child. However, the only time that these groups are more stable is during the summer since it is the season where they work as a team to look for food.

the humpback whale feeds on all kinds of fish and at the time of executing its fishing activity, with its body it creates a circle, then blows the bubbles that are formed and in this way they have the possibility of catching all the fish that are within their reach. In the same way, in this activity they absorb a large amount of water and then expel it through the grooves they have in the throat.

Have a Nice Day !!!
